Christine and Rowdy Expecting

Last week, I had the honor of photographing one of my best friends and her adorable husband just a few weeks before her due date! Christine and I became friends years ago in school. Our friendship has continued through some of the biggest times of our lives. Graduating college, watching each other get married to the loves of our lives and now we welcome a new baby girl into our circle of friends. I just cannot believe our lives have flown by so quickly and we are now walking our lives by faith as we all prepare to grow our families even larger. Although Stephen and I are not quite ready to start a family of our own, I almost feel like we are sharing in Christine and Rowdy's excitement as I seriously think Im almost just as excited for this new baby as they are. I CANNOT wait to meet sweet little Bella. I have no doubt she will be gorgeous and a blessing to the world. Christine has been on bed rest for a while now and I was so excited we were able document baby Bella even under best rest circumstances. We walked the path behind Christine and Rowdy's home and used the gorgeous desert landscape. Its amazing how beautiful the desert really is with amazing sunlight. The perfect light, the perfect couple with huge hearts of love... everything just seems to look perfect.
Congratulations Christine and Rowdy! We can't wait to meet her!!

It's so cute to watch a soon to be dad talk about his pregnant wife and the new baby. Its just so sweet.

Christine looks pretty DARN FABULOUS!

Natalie and Reggie : Wedding

I learned a lot about Natalie and Reggie at their engagement session a few months ago. I feel in love with their bubbly colorful personalities and their HUGE hearts of love. The thing I LOVE about Natalie is her unfailing ability to make Reggie laugh. No matter what they are doing, they are ALWAYS laughing. When Stephen and I arrived at her house to photograph the tiny details as Natalie prepared for the day, she embraced us both with excitement as she told us about the wedding details. I think we were almost as excited as she was!
We headed over to Brophy Chapel to photograph the groomsmen and as we were driving, we noticed tiny raindrops on the windshield. Phoenix had been experiencing A LOT of storms the week prior and we all prayed for sunshine. Better yet, the day was perfectly cloudy with spots of sun. It was perfect. Natalie purchased white umbrellas for everyone just in case.
After the ceremony, we headed out to the beautiful Tempe Center of the Arts for the reception. Although it was freezing outside, Natalie and Reggie bared through the cold and posed so graciously for the camera. I feel honored to have been apart of this day and we feel so thankful for the generosity that both Natalie and Reggie's family showed us. You guys are both such BEAUTIFUL people and I couldn't be happier with how the day went!

The jewelry below was given to her by her grandmother and great grandmother.

Natalie has the prettiest skin!

Reggie loves batman and i thought it was so cute he actually found cuffs on ebay!

This was SUCH a sweet moment. I definitely had to hide behind the pillar while I wiped a few tears away.

I LOVED the beautiful vintage car they rented!

They are ALWAYS smiling! I love it!

Reggie is so sweet around Natalie. He is so kind hearted.

Natalie is seriously STUNNING.

This is one of my favorite photos of the day

One of Natalie's bridesmaid made her veil.

The venue had a beautiful negative edge pool in from of the reception venues. it looked stunning from inside.

Natalie and Reggie had someone actually design their cake topper for them! TOO cute!

Reggies aunts and uncles decorated the entire reception hall! GORGEOUS!

Natalie and Reggie surprised EVERYONE at the wedding with dragon dancers! What an awesome experience!

I must say that there were A LOT of good dancers at the reception!!!

Our 100th day of marriage

If you read my blog often, you would know that Stephen and I were married this past October. I cannot believe its already been over three months since the wedding and honeymoon. Today is our 100th day mark and I'm pondering about what to make for dinner.. No, I haven't been actually counting the days since we've been married but my facebook page has been. I know I know... I use facebook A LOT! Are we friends yet? Being a newlywed couple is SO much fun but I also might add that being a wife can be a task :) I mean that in a good way... As a little girl I always watched my grandma and my mom cook up dinners like it was no-ones business. Whipping them together fast and easy. I also watched them wash and fold the laundry, vacuum, and do it all with a big smile. SO growing up, I knew EXACTLY what to expect. I knew the "roles" of a housewife and what my job was. Well... now that we are married... I haven't been so on top of things I guess. It seems we BOTH love to cook, clean, and do laundry so...Guess I'm lucky! Since we've been home from the honeymoon, I have really gotten into cooking and hmmm it's not as easy as I thought. I can of course make the simple things, but its been FUN making new dishes. I don't mean simple meals like ramen noodles, and microwaveable meals, I mean I can make some chicken and veggies and to ME it tastes pretty darn good! ..... or at least I hope Stephen isnt lying to me :) Other than the simple meals, The first REAL dish I decided to make was my grandmothers goulash recipe. My Grandma is from Linz Austria where the food is filling and delicious .....and once you taste it, you'll be spoiled forever. So, tonight I'll be preparing something yummy and different from the ordinary. I'm looking for new recipes and I would LOVE to hear any good ones YOU have! Send them over! Leave a comment or shoot me an e-mail! For now, here is my famous Grandmothers Goulash. I hope you make it and I hope you enjoy it! Happy Monday everyone!

What you need :
4lbs of port roast cut into cubes.
2 yellow chopped onions
4 cloves garlic- Chopped
1 rounded tablespoon caraway seeds
4 teaspoons of paprika
4 cups hot chicken broth
4 bay leaves
1 bunch of fresh thyme (tied in a bundle with a string)
2 green bell peppers, deeded and cut into 1/2 strips
5 tablespoons sour cream

Dredge cubed meat in flour. Saute meat in batches so only layer at a time is browned. Put meat aside and saute onion. Add more oil as necessary. (Dont let onion brown). Add meat back into pan and mix together. Add garlic and caraway seeds ten take away from heat and quickly add the paprika and hot chicken broth. Return back to heat and add the 4 bay leaves and thyme bundle. Cook for 1 hour with lid slightly ajar stirring occasionally. Add pepper strips and cook for 1/2 hour more. Add sour cream and stir till creamy... let simmer for a bit more.

Promo Video Shoot III : Linda and Kip

This is my last and final post about my promo with Anton, until the actual video is posted.. I promise :) We ended the day with a lovely couple that JUST got engaged!!! I met Linda quite some time ago through one of my best friends and its been so fun getting to know her and now her freshly minted new fiance! I am so excited for the both of them and I have no doubt they will be a beautiful bride and groom.
Stephen and I picked this spot for the promo because I just love the rugged look of the structure we shot in. It was so fun shooting through the windows and absorbing the gorgeous rich light that bounced off the walls. It was so neat to watch these two interact in front of the camera as they are just beginning the wedding planning process and SO excited. They were seriously radiating color throughout the entire shoot. I just want to thank Linda and Kip for being our models for the day and being an absolute joy to be around. I am SO excited to watch you two commit your lives together and we are so thankful we had the opportunity to document the beginning of your engagement!

These two have some of the BLUEST eyes! I cant wait till they have adorable cute blonde haired blue eyes little kip and lindas running around!

Linda is seriously one of the cutest, sweetest most beautiful girls I know. She just radiates joy and its such a blessing to know her!

The light was just PERFECT for the end of the shoot...

I thought their shadow was so cute because they look like cute little doll shadows :)

Towards the end of the day, we were all sooo tired but when we made it to the last location and Linda and Kip arrived, our excitement sparked up once again!

I take the desert for granted and it really is truly beautiful.

Promo Video Shoot II : Tarah and Joshua

As most of you know, I am seriously OBSESSED with anything old and vintage. There is just something neat about old clothes, suitcases and books. They all have been worn out and hold many old tales of adventure. I love to think about who might have read those old books or wore the beautiful vintage 50's dress I bought from a vintage store. So many stories I wish I knew. If any of you have been following my blog through my wedding planning process, you would have read about my venture of finding the perfect dress for my rehearsal dinner. I searched all the best vintage stores online and found nothing that suited my taste until I stumbled upon Timeless Vixen. I was literally SUCKED into the GORGEOUS woven vintage threads and just HAD to purchase my dream dress. Many posts back, I posted two dresses I loved and all of YOU who are my blog readers helped me pick the right dress and I'm so glad I took your advice.
I called up my two friends whom I recently shot their engagement session this past November. I knew they would be the perfect models for this shoot and it just so happens they fit the part PERFECTLY. I lent Tarah my timeless dress for the shoot and my goodness... she fit the dress the way it was supposed to be worn. I was flabbergasted when I saw her in the dress!! I'm thrilled it all worked out and I couldn't be happier to watch my vision turn into reality. My latest posts have ALL been about my recent promo shoot with Anton Lorimer and throughout the process I had the wonderful opportunity to set up some wonderful and inspiring shoots. This is the second shoot of the promo and I am thrilled it all pulled together! Thanks Tarah and Joshua for being such gorgeous models. Can't wait to document your wedding this February!!

One really cool thing about these trains is they reflect a lot of light .... they acted like a flash and I just loved how it worked as the perfect reflector! The sky was the perfect shade of blue on a cloudy day!

The sun peeked out at the perfect time!

Im proud to not only call this beautiful couple my clients but also my friends.
